Safety is not a place
We all want to feel that sense of security, a place that is a safe haven and would shield and protect us from any harm. The truth is no place is really safe because safety is actually not a place it is something within yourself. Of course, there are places that can be considered more dangerous than others. War zones, for example, would naturally be unsafer than a place where there is peace. However, haven't you heard about people surviving wars and living until old age and other people getting killed in places that were supposed to be safe? Danger could lurk everywhere if it's not from people then from nature. So, in reality, there is no outward protection that will keep you safe. Real protection can only come from one source: "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thessalonians 3:3 NIV
Some people spend their lives moving from one place to another to ensure they are safe. Once they settle in a place they feel secure in, they pack up and leave at the slightest hint of danger. But that's not the way we should be living life. It's not about running away but about settling on the right things. "Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust.”"Psalms 91:1-2 GNB
The world seems like a scary place if you only focus on the negative things and possible scenarios of harm that could potentially befall you, but if you look at all the things that you've been protected from, you'll realize that you're more blessed than you could possibly be threatened by.
