There's something profound about giving thanks. It's like an outpouring, a celebration of goodness, a restoration of peace. It's the most beautiful way of expressing the acknowledgment and appreciation for someone or something. Some people give thanks daily, some only on special occasions, sadly others don't even know what to be thankful for.
Love is the most fundamental part of our existence. Love is complex and multifaceted, yet so simple and easy at the same time. It is the beginning, the end, and the center all at once. It is the reason why some have gone to war and the reason why others have ended them. It is the melody, the notes, and the words to a song. It is the silence and noise in a moment of bliss. The sunshine after the rain. The warm embrace on a cold winter morning.
"Smile and don't let anybody see you're hurting inside." How many times have you been in that situation? You put on a smile and engage in polite conversation when in reality, all you want to do is break down inside. Is that unhealthy, inauthentic or pretentious? Well, I believe there is a huge difference between pretending and not allowing the things that cause you pain to weigh you down.
There is something fascinating about looking up the actual meaning of words to get a better understanding of the root and the context of why a specific term is used the way it is. A look into different dictionaries allowed me to discover a beautiful definition of happiness: "A state of well-being and contentment". Isn't that amazing? That explains humanity's constant pursuit of happiness. Who doesn't want to be in a constant state of contentment? That sounds like a great place to be in.
